Avenue One Shop is a German B2B-only Shopify store for salons and hair-care retailers. Guests can browse the catalog but see no prices until they register, send proof of a trade business and log in. BSS B2B Solution, Lock and Quote handle registration, price hiding and quick ordering.
Key facts from the public storefront
- Business model: B2B only. The homepage headline reads “B2B Shop für Salon & Handel” (B2B shop for salon and trade).
- Prices: hidden from guests on product and collection pages. The Add to cart button is disabled with the same message.
- Approval: the registration form has a required file upload for proof of trade. The FAQ says documents are usually checked within 24 hours on working days.
- Quick order: a dedicated page that shows only a log-in message to guests.
- BSS apps in use: BSS B2B Solution, BSS B2B Lock and BSS B2B Quote, each with its own public App Store review.
About Avenue One Shop
Avenue One is a trade shop in Germany for the hairdressing and beauty industry. Its public FAQ says the offer is aimed only at commercial customers such as hair salons, mobile stylists and cosmetic studios, and that it does not sell to end consumers. The store is a Shopify store with a German storefront and an English language option in the header menu. Much of the page and product copy stays in German, so this story translates the visible German text.
The catalog is built around two professional hair-care brands, shown on the homepage as “Unsere Marken im Portfolio” (our brands in the portfolio). The first is Hair by Sam McKnight, with care, styling, sets and a “by need” navigation covering topics such as anti-frizz, moisture, shine and scalp care. The second is Insight Professional, with care, styling, colour and texture ranges: shampoos, masks, oils, colour correctors, bleaching products and styling sprays. An accessories category completes the main navigation.
The homepage repeats four promises in a short block: net prices and availability after login, delivery in one to three working days, quick re-ordering of bestsellers and essentials, and personal B2B support. A line in the top bar also says registration is free. Together they tell a salon owner what the shop is for before any account exists.

Avenue One’s B2B model
Avenue One is not a blended store. There is no consumer checkout to protect, so the whole experience is built around one question: is this visitor a verified business? That makes it a good example of a B2B-only Shopify store where the catalog is public, the prices are not, and access is granted after a manual check.
Who can buy and how they apply
According to the public FAQ, a new buyer clicks the person icon, chooses to create a B2B account and fills in the registration. To be unlocked as a B2B customer, the shop asks for proof of a commercial activity: a trade registration, an entry in the Chamber of Crafts or proof of training. The buyer uploads that document in the customer portal. The shop says it normally reviews documents within 24 hours on working days and sends a confirmation email. After that the buyer can see B2B purchase prices and order.
Public trade terms
| Topic | What the store publishes |
|---|---|
| Customers | Commercial customers from the hairdressing and beauty trade only |
| Price display | All prices are net, VAT is shown separately at checkout |
| Minimum order | 50 EUR net per order |
| Shipping | Free from 199 EUR net within Germany, otherwise a flat 10 EUR net |
| Delivery time | 1 to 3 working days |
| Payment | Invoice (subject to credit check, 14 or 30 days), SEPA direct debit, card, PayPal |
| Returns | The 14-day consumer withdrawal right does not apply to B2B customers; damage must be reported within 48 hours |
Publishing these terms next to the registration process does two jobs. It filters out buyers who cannot meet a 50 EUR minimum, and it answers the questions a salon would otherwise send to support. Net-price display, payment on invoice and a minimum order value are three of the most common B2B settings, and the FAQ page treats them as part of the offer rather than as fine print.
How the storefront handles wholesale
1. Registration with company data
Registration is promoted in two places: the top bar reads “Kostenlose Registrierung” (free registration) with a button “Jetzt B2B-Kunde werden” (become a B2B customer now), and the footer has a “B2B-Registrierung” link. The form lives on its own page. It opens with a block called “Firmendaten” (company data): salon or company name, street and house number, postcode, city and country, a VAT ID, a commercial register number, a phone number with a +49 prefix and a file upload called “Gewerbenachweis” (proof of trade). A second block, “Persönliche Angaben” (personal details), asks for first name, last name, email and password, followed by a privacy-policy checkbox and a submit button. Required fields carry a red asterisk. The proof of trade is mandatory, while the VAT ID and the commercial register number are not, which keeps the form usable for small salons and freelancers that have no VAT number yet.

2. Prices hidden on product pages
On a product page the price line is replaced by “Als B2B-Kunde anmelden, um Preise zu sehen” (log in as a B2B customer to see prices). The Add to cart button stays visible but is grey and carries the same sentence. The visitor still sees the product title, brand, size and colour variants, images and the description, so the page remains useful for search and for a salon comparing shades. Only the commercial information is withheld.

3. The same rule on every collection
Collection pages follow the same logic. In the shampoo collection we opened, all 20 product cards on the first screen load show the same log-in message under the product name. The store does not mix visible and hidden prices, which avoids the confusing case where one product shows a price and the next does not.

4. A quick order page behind the gate
The main navigation contains a “Schnellbestellung” (quick order) entry with a small “ZEIT SPAREN” (save time) tag. For a guest the page shows one line: this area is visible only to B2B customers, please log in to use the quick order function. The page itself is not hidden, so the entry in the menu also works as advertising for what registered buyers get.

This is where the Quote app comes in. In its public review Avenue One says it uses BSS B2B Quote “mainly for the quick order function” because its customers often order during a busy working day. We cannot see the page behind the log-in, so we describe only what the public storefront shows.
Which BSS features power it
Three BSS apps are visible on the storefront, and each one has its own public review from Avenue One. The list below only states what we could verify from the public pages or from the store’s app configuration. It does not describe what buyers see after logging in.
- BSS B2B Solution (Advanced plan): the store has two active registration forms, an auto-tag rule that labels approved customers, custom pricing rules, a quantity increment rule and an order limit rule with a minimum. The review lists custom registration forms, approval workflows, customer groups, B2B pricing and net price logic. See the registration form guide and wholesale registration form with approval.
- BSS B2B Lock: hides prices from visitors who are not logged in or not approved. The review says this is “very important for our shop” so that B2B prices are visible only to the right customer groups. See hide prices from guest users and hide wholesale prices from guest visitors.
- BSS B2B Quote: powers the quick order function. See the quick order overview and standard quick order pages.
Behind these headline features sit smaller rules that fit the published terms. A quantity increment rule lets a store sell in fixed multiples, and an order limit rule can enforce a minimum. We cannot tell from outside whether the 50 EUR minimum in the FAQ is enforced by that rule, so we only note that both exist. For a shop that sells professional product by the bottle and tube, the use case beauty brands: pro pricing, VAT and self-service ordering walks through a similar setup.

The three images in this section come from the BSS user guide and show how such options look in the admin. They are examples, not Avenue One’s own settings.

What other merchants can copy
You do not need Avenue One’s brands to reuse its structure. These are the steps that make the model work, in the order a buyer meets them.
- Say who the shop is for in the first screen. Avenue One’s headline, top bar and banner all say “B2B” before the first scroll.
- Keep the catalog public and the prices private. Visitors and search engines see the products, only the price and Add to cart change.
- Use one message everywhere. The same sentence on product pages, collection cards and the quick order page teaches buyers what to do.
- Ask for proof of a business, not a long form. One required document upload plus basic company data is enough to approve a salon within a day.
- Publish your trade terms. Minimum order, shipping threshold, payment methods and net-price display belong on a public FAQ.
- Offer a fast reorder path. A quick order page serves buyers who already know their SKUs. Gate it so it rewards approval.
- Plan for another language. A German storefront with an English option still needs clear translation of messages and forms; test both.

The merchant’s review
Avenue One published a separate 5-star review for each BSS app on the Shopify App Store. The first is for BSS B2B Solution (after about two months of use, February 23, 2026):
We use B2B/Wholesale Solution for our B2B Shopify store and are extremely happy so far. The app covers everything we need: custom registration forms, approval workflows, customer groups, B2B pricing and net price logic.
Avenue One Shop, Germany, review on the Shopify App Store, 5 of 5 stars, February 23, 2026
The second is for BSS B2B Lock (after five months, May 26, 2026):
We primarily use the app to hide prices from customers who are not logged in or approved as B2B customers. This is very important for our shop, as we want to make sure that our B2B prices are only visible to the right customer groups.
Avenue One Shop, Germany, review on the Shopify App Store, 5 of 5 stars, May 26, 2026
The third is for BSS B2B Quote (after three months, May 26, 2026):
We use the BSS B2B Quote app mainly for the quick order function, and it has become a very helpful tool for our B2B shop.

FAQ
Can a Shopify store be B2B-only without Shopify Plus?
Yes for the storefront behaviour described here: a public catalog, hidden prices, a registration form with approval and a gated quick order page are built with apps and theme settings. The store in this story is on the Advanced Shopify plan according to the app’s store data. Checkout-level locks are a separate feature of BSS B2B Lock and are available only for Shopify Plus.
Should prices be hidden from every visitor?
Only if the business needs it. Avenue One hides prices from all guests because its prices are trade prices for verified salons. A blended store would instead show retail prices and switch to wholesale prices after login, which is the pattern in selling B2B and B2C from one store.
How do you check that a buyer is really a business?
Avenue One asks for a trade registration, a Chamber of Crafts entry or proof of training, uploaded in the portal, and reviews it by hand. A registration form can also collect a VAT or tax ID and tag the customer when you approve it. See verify a business tax ID before approving.
What does a quick order page do for a salon?
It lets a buyer who already knows the products add many items without browsing collection pages. Avenue One’s own review says its customers order during busy working days, so speed matters more than discovery.
Do these results mean more orders for Avenue One?
No. This story reports no sales, order or customer numbers, because we have none from the merchant. It describes only the public storefront, the configuration facts we could verify and the merchant’s public reviews.
