How the demo stores work

The demos are Shopify development stores that BSS maintains, built on one theme with sample beauty and personal care products. A development store puts a password page in front of the storefront. Each demo has a bar or menu that points to the pages worth opening, and the Solution demo has a button that logs you in as a sample B2B buyer in one click.

A demo shows the apps' own features. It cannot show how a feature looks in your theme, which is why the migration and setup guides tell you to test on a duplicate of your theme. Do not enter real customer data in a demo store.

What to try

  1. Browse a collection as a retail guest, then use the Log in as B2B buyer button in the bar under the header and compare the prices on the same product.
  2. Open the Volume Pricing collection, pick a product and change the quantity: the tier table and the price follow the quantity.
  3. Open the Price List page and see the fixed prices the sample buyer gets.
  4. Open the registration form (Sign Up and Wait for Approval) and type into the EU VAT and ABN fields: the number is checked as you type.
  5. Add a product to the cart and look for the EU VAT ID box (Tax Exempt) and the Pay later button (Net Terms). You can stop before payment.
  6. Open the Order Limit and Quantity Increment pages and try an order below the minimum to read the message a buyer sees.

What to try

  1. Open the Hide Price page as a guest: each product shows a Login to View Price button instead of a price.
  2. Open the Login to view page and Enter Passcode pages and see how a locked page asks for a login or a passcode.
  3. Open the Secret Link page: it opens only for a link that carries the right token.
  4. Open Hide Products and see which products a guest does not get.
  5. Open Age Verification and note that it is a Confirm or Exit popup, a self-declaration and not a legal age check.
  6. Log in with the sample account and compare what changes for a buyer.

What to try

  1. Open the Default Quick Order page: search, set quantities per row, and try Bulk Import with a small CSV of SKUs and quantities.
  2. Open the Request For Quote collection and press Add to quote on two products, then open the quote list and send the form.
  3. Open a product page with the quote button and compare it with the collection version.
  4. Open Quote history and Reorder: both need a logged-in customer.
  5. Open Quick Order x B2B Solution to see quick order prices that come from BSS B2B Solution rules.

What a demo store cannot show you

Your theme

The demos run on one theme with sample products. Cart drawers, quick view and custom sections in your theme can need extra setup. Check the supported themes and test on a duplicate of your theme.

Your plan

The demos switch features on for showing them. Your own plan decides which modules you get, so check the pricing page before you copy a setup.

Your checkout

Rules that depend on the cart page, such as order limits, Tax Exempt and Net Terms, are checked there. Test your own checkout path, including express checkout.

Your catalog size

Sample stores have a few dozen products. If you have thousands, plan CSV imports and test performance on your own store.

On the Solution demo, press the Log in as B2B buyer button in the bar under the header, and the store logs you in as a sample buyer. On the Lock and Quote demos, log in with the sample account on the login page. Then compare the prices and pages with what you saw as a guest.

Are the demo orders real?

The demos are development stores with sample products. Do not enter real customer data. You can add to the cart and test the flows, and you can stop before payment.

Do the demos run on my theme?

No. They run on one sample theme. Install the app on a duplicate of your own theme to see how it looks there, and check the list of supported themes.

Is there a free way to try the apps on my own store?
