Les Poochs sells luxury dog-grooming products to dog owners and to professional groomers from a single Shopify store. Groomers open a free Pet Professional account through a registration form, wait for approval, then log in to see pro prices. This spotlight shows how that flow looks on the public storefront and what sits behind it in BSS B2B Solution.
About Les Poochs
Les Poochs describes itself as a maker of fine grooming products, and its home page carries the line “EST 1987” with “Paris, London, New York” under the logo. The “About us” page says the brand was founded on the idea of providing the best care for your best friend, and that it has spent three decades developing grooming tools, fragrances and bathing products. The catalog at the time of writing has 30 products: shampoos, crème rinses, a degreaser and dematter, detangling spray, ear care, fragrances and flexible-head brushes in several firmness grades.
The store speaks to two audiences. Pet parents see free shipping on orders of $99 and over. Groomers, breeders and other professionals are invited to join a Pet Professionals program. The “About us” page uses the heading “Trusted by Professionals, Loved by Dog Owners”, and the product pages show hundreds of public customer reviews.

How Les Poochs structures its B2B program
This is a hybrid model: one store, one catalog, two kinds of buyer. There is no separate wholesale site. What changes between the two audiences is the price, and that change is gated by an account.
Based on the public pages, the program works like this:
- Who can apply. “Groomer, breeder, or other pet professional”, in the words of the registration page.
- What it costs. The page says “Create your free Pro Account today and save up to 60% off retail pricing”. That discount range is Les Poochs’ own statement, not a BSS figure.
- How approval works. “Once approved, usually within 1 business day, you will be notified via email.” The applicant then logs in to see pro pricing.
- How the applicant proves they are a business. The form asks for at least one of a business website or online profile, a business Facebook or Instagram page, or a business tax ID, with a note that an EIN is wanted, not an SSN.
The production configuration holds four live registration forms, but only one is linked from the navigation. We could not tell who the other three are for, so we do not describe them.
How the storefront handles wholesale
A Pet Professionals entry point in the navigation
The first B2B surface is the plain one: a “Pet Professionals” link in the main menu, next to Products, Product Finder Quiz, Reviews and About. It leads to a collection of the same 30 products with one sentence under the title telling visitors to register, get approved and then log in to see professional pricing. The collection is a good place to catch a groomer who is already browsing: it never asks the buyer to leave the catalog to find out how to qualify.

What a guest sees on a product page
A guest sees the retail price. For example, Pooch D’été is shown at $85.00, with the normal Shopify installment message under it. Under the price, the theme shows a short block: “Are you a Pet Professional? Get access to exclusive pricing, sign up now, it’s free. Once approved, you must login to see Pro prices.”
That block is part of the store’s theme, not an element of the BSS app. For a guest the BSS rules change nothing on the page: the price is the retail price and no volume table appears. We cannot log in, so we cannot show the pro view, and we do not describe prices a pro sees.

The registration form
The registration page opens with the offer (“Are you a groomer, breeder, or other pet professional?”), then the form. The form is a BSS B2B Solution registration form: the page loads the BSS form block, and the form markup carries BSS identifiers. It starts with contact fields (first and last name, email, password, business name, phone, address, state and zip), then a Business Verification block, then a short section titled “Les Poochs Products”.

The product section asks two things: whether the applicant has bought Les Poochs products before, and how they heard about the brand, with a drop-down of choices that includes Facebook, Reddit, TikTok, YouTube, referral by another groomer, press, trade shows and seminars. Follow-up fields invite detail for “Other”, “Referred by” and “Tradeshow or Seminar”. The team gets an attribution answer on every application without a separate survey.
The last section is an instruction block with two “I understand” checkboxes. It tells the new pro that after approval they must log in before shopping, and where to click to log in. It also warns that some approved pros will receive a second email titled “ACTION REQUIRED” with a link to activate the account. It is a small piece of onboarding copy that heads off a question wholesale stores often get: “I was approved, so why do I still see retail prices?”

On a phone
Many buyers browse on a phone, so the mobile view matters. The registration page keeps the same heading and form on a 390 px screen, and the “Pet Professionals” collection stacks the same message above the product grid.

Which BSS features power it
We checked the store’s storefront markers and, with read-only queries, the configuration of the Les Poochs shop in BSS production data. We looked only at which features are switched on and how rules are targeted. We did not look at orders, revenue or customers. The configuration shows the following, as of October 5, 2026.
- Registration forms: 4 live forms. Two use manual approval and two use auto-approval, and all four attach a customer tag on approval. This is wholesale registration with approval. See the BSS guide to building a registration form.
- Custom pricing: 23 enabled rules. All target customers by tag. Twenty work at variant level and three at product level, and every one sets a fixed price instead of a percentage. Together they cover 57 of the 58 variants in the public catalog, about 98%. This is special prices for tagged wholesale customers, set up as in the custom pricing guide.
- Volume pricing: 6 enabled rules. They also target tagged customers and work at variant level, covering 21 of the 58 variants, about 36%. See tiered pricing and quantity breaks.
- Price list: 1 enabled rule for tagged customers (B2B price list per buyer group).
- Auto tags: 4 enabled rules, which add or change customer tags without manual work (auto-tag customers).
- Tax exempt: 2 enabled rules for tagged customers (exempt tax for customers without a VAT number).
The percentages are shares of the public catalog covered by enabled rules, taken from rule configuration. They are not sales figures. They also ignore rule exclusions, so read them as “targeted by a rule”, not as “discounted for every pro on every day”.

The three images above are examples from a BSS demo configuration. They show the same screens a merchant uses; they are not Les Poochs’ admin.
What the storefront does not show
A spotlight built from public pages has limits, so here they are. We cannot see the pro-priced view, so we cannot confirm what a pro sees on a product page, how a volume table is laid out, or whether the tax-exempt rules apply at checkout. We do not know the order of approval work inside the team, how many applicants are approved, or what share of orders come from pros. None of those facts is part of this story, and no sales, order or customer figures appear anywhere in it.
Registration forms with approval, customer-group prices, volume tiers, quantity increments, order limits and Net Terms in one app. 14-day trial on paid plans.

Whatever your product, the Les Poochs pattern is easy to carry over. A practical checklist:
- Put the program in the main navigation. One short link (“Pet Professionals”) gives buyers a place to start.
- Say what the account is, what it costs and how long approval takes before the first form field.
- Ask for proof proportionate to the risk. “At least one of” three evidence types is faster than demanding a document.
- Use the form for marketing questions that tell you where good buyers come from, with follow-up fields shown only when relevant.
- Explain the first login on the form itself. A line that says “log in before shopping” saves support emails.
- Tag on approval and price by tag. One tag per buyer group keeps rules short and easy to audit.
- Keep retail prices visible to guests if you also sell to consumers, and put the pro offer next to the price instead of replacing it.
Les Poochs’ public review of the app
Les Poochs left a public review of BSS B2B Solution on the Shopify App Store on July 3, 2025, five of five stars, after about five months of use. We quote it exactly as published:
“The BSS app made it really easy to add B2B to our Shopify store. Wholesale customers could register easily and access trade pricing.”
The review goes on to credit the BSS support team. You can read the full text on the BSS B2B Solution reviews page on the Shopify App Store.
Frequently asked questions
Can a brand sell to consumers and professionals from one Shopify store?
Yes. Les Poochs shows the same catalog to everyone, keeps retail prices for guests, and lets approved Pet Professionals log in to see pro prices. BSS B2B Solution applies the pro rules to customers who carry a tag, so no second store is needed. See Sell B2B and B2C from one Shopify store.
How do wholesale applicants get approved on Shopify?
A registration form collects the application. In BSS B2B Solution you choose manual approval or auto-approval, and the form can add a customer tag when the buyer is approved. Rules then read that tag. The BSS guide to managing and approving applicants covers the flow.
Can pro prices be set per variant instead of as a percentage off?
Yes. A custom pricing rule can set a fixed price on chosen variants for a customer group. In the Les Poochs configuration, all enabled custom pricing rules use fixed prices. You can create the rules one by one or import them, see Import wholesale prices from CSV.
How can I check that an applicant is a real business?
Les Poochs asks for at least one of a business website or profile, a Facebook or Instagram page, or a business tax ID, then reviews the application by hand. BSS B2B Solution forms can also include tax ID fields (EU VAT, UK VAT, US EIN, Australian ABN, India GST) with live validation, depending on your BSS plan. See Verify a business tax ID before approving.
Does hiding wholesale prices from guests hurt the retail side of the store?
Not in this setup, because guests still see the retail price and only the pro prices wait behind login and approval. If you want to hide the price itself, BSS B2B Lock does that, see Hide wholesale prices from guest visitors.
