Stakk: How a Swedish Energy Distributor Sells to Installers on Shopify

How does a distributor keep prices private while letting installers research products? A spotlight on Stakk, its Swedish storefront with hidden prices and its partner application, built on BSS B2B Lock and BSS B2B Solution.

Company Overview

Stakk is a Stockholm-based distributor of home batteries, solar panels, EV chargers and mounting material for installers and resellers in Sweden. Its storefront is in Swedish and prices are reserved for approved partners.

Stakk is a Stockholm-based distributor of home batteries, solar panels, EV chargers and mounting material that sells to installers and resellers in Sweden. Its Shopify store shows specifications to everyone but hides prices until a partner is approved. Here is how the Swedish storefront handles that, with BSS B2B Solution and BSS B2B Lock.

Key takeaways

  • Prices are hidden from guests: product cards and pages say “Bli kund för att se pris” (“Become a customer to see the price”).
  • A partner page explains six reseller benefits before the application form, and the form asks for an organization number and an invoice email, as Swedish business buyers expect.
  • Behind the scenes, BSS B2B Solution handles the registration form, tags, price lists and manual orders, and BSS B2B Lock hides the prices.
  • The merchant reviewed both apps on the Shopify App Store and praised the price groups and the chat support.

About Stakk

Stakk presents itself as “your distributor in energy, heating and EV charging” (the Swedish headline reads “Din distributör inom energi, värme och elbilsladdning”). The site describes Stakk as a partner for “the new energy home”, offering energy storage, solar cells, charging and heating, and helping customers build sustainable and cost-effective energy systems. According to a text on its site, the name is a play on the English word stack, which in Swedish is lager, and the logo stands for three layers of storage: storing the electricity you produce, storing for your own consumption, and storing to support the grid. The ambition is to become the leading niche distributor of energy storage for homeowners and property owners.

The catalog is organized for installers. The menu has EV charging (AC wall boxes, charging cables, load balancing and DC chargers) and Energy (home batteries, commercial batteries, inverters, solar panels, mounting material and accessories), plus a brands menu with names such as SAJ, Easee, Zaptec, NexBlue, EvBee, LONGi, Nordmount and Weland. The footer lists a Stockholm address and a sales and support number. The storefront is almost entirely in Swedish, so we translate the visible text we describe.

The Swedish home page. The headline says “Your distributor in energy, heating and EV charging” (translated) and the main button, “Bli kund”, means “Become a customer”.

The B2B model: a trade-only distributor with a visible catalog

Stakk’s customers are not homeowners. The home page copy says it helps “you” create energy systems “for your customers”, and the testimonials on the page come from installers. The store therefore behaves like a distributor’s portal: the catalog and specifications are public, so installers can research systems, but price is reserved for approved partners. The main button on the home page is “Bli kund” (“Become a customer”), and the menu repeats it next to “Logga in” (“Log in”).

That is the middle path between a fully open store and a fully locked one. Open specifications keep the site useful for search and for installers comparing models. Hidden prices protect a distributor’s agreements with its manufacturers and its resellers. If you are choosing between the two models for your own store, our guide to hiding wholesale prices from guest visitors and the access control hub compare the options.

A walkthrough of the wholesale surfaces

Prices replaced by an invitation

On the home page, a section called “Batteripaket Villa” (“Battery packages for homes”) offers ready-made packages with a hybrid inverter and batteries. Each card shows a name, an article number and the line “Bli kund för att se pris”. The same message replaces the price on the product pages we opened, and the product pages keep the technical specification visible, for example the phase configuration, ingress protection rating and ten-year product warranty of a home battery.

A product page for a home battery. The specification stays public; the price is replaced by “Bli kund för att se pris” and the page offers a phone number for larger purchases.

The product page also offers a phone number for larger purchases (“Vill du handla större partier, ring …”, “Want to buy larger lots? Call …”), and the Add to cart button is greyed out for guests. A hidden price like this is a display choice made by the theme extension of BSS B2B Lock. The price is still in the page’s data, so it is a way to keep casual visitors from seeing it and not a security measure. Our guide on hiding prices from guest users explains the options.

A partner page that sells the relationship

The “Bli partner” (“Become a partner”) page opens with “Fördelar med att bli återförsäljare hos Stakk” (“Benefits of becoming a reseller at Stakk”) and six short blocks. In translation they promise technical support all the way (advice, sizing help, commissioning support and troubleshooting by phone and email), complete pre-packaged systems that are tested and compatible, training and product knowledge, lead generation and sales training that passes inquiries to authorized installers, fast logistics across Sweden, even direct to the end customer’s address, and the most requested systems in stock, including the SAJ HS3 and complete kits.

The partner page lists six reseller benefits (translated): technical support all the way, complete solutions, training and product knowledge, lead generation and sales training, fast and smooth logistics, and products in stock.

For a distributor, this page does the work a sales call would otherwise do. It tells an installer what the account is worth before asking for a company number.

An application form shaped for Swedish business buyers

The form “Ansökan om att bli partner” (“Application to become a partner”) has two groups. The first, “Kontaktuppgifter” (contact details), asks for first name, last name and email. The second, “Företagsuppgifter” (company details), asks for the company name, the organization number (“Organisationsnummer”), an invoice email (“Faktura mail”), a phone number, an address, a city and a postcode. The applicant consents to the privacy policy and general terms by submitting. The form has no password field, which means an applicant does not get a login at the moment of applying. The merchant approves the application first.

The application form (“Ansökan om att bli partner”, translated: “Application to become a partner”) asks for contact details and company details such as the organization number and an invoice email address.

Two details are worth copying. The organization number lets the merchant look up the company in the Swedish business register before approval, and the invoice email means finance documents go to accounts payable instead of to the installer who placed the order. Our guide to building a registration form shows how to add custom fields like these.

Which BSS features power it

Stakk installed BSS B2B Solution in May 2025 on a Platinum plan and also uses BSS B2B Lock. We confirmed the feature types from the apps’ configuration data for this spotlight, without looking at business volumes.

The four images above come from demo stores. They show what each switch does: the first decides whether to hide the price, the Add to cart button or both, and whether to hide prices from Google search results as well; the second shows a locked price on a demo storefront; the third is a price list rule, and the fourth an auto tag that gives a customer a tag when something happens. The guide on using Lock with BSS B2B Solution registration tags explains how the two apps share the same customer tag.

What other merchants can copy

  • Show specifications, hide prices. Installers can compare models while you keep pricing for approved partners.
  • Replace the price with a call to action. “Become a customer to see the price” is better than an empty space, because it tells the visitor what to do next.
  • Sell the partnership on its own page. List what an account includes (support, training, logistics, stock) before the form.
  • Ask for the fields your finance team needs. Organization number and invoice email save emails later.
  • Offer a phone line for large orders. It gives big buyers a human route and takes pressure off the cart.
  • Use one tag across both apps. A registration tag that the Lock rule and the price list both read keeps the setup simple.

The merchant’s reviews

Stakk reviewed both apps on the Shopify App Store on August 5, 2025, after about three months of use. We quote both public reviews as written. The reviews are in English, so no translation is needed.

Great app with a lot of functions that makes it easier and more cost effective compared to the higher price for getting the same functions with shopify. We have used it for our B2B sales and creating various price groups which have been great! Again, Jonas in the support is very helpful when questions arise.

We used this app for several functions and the wholesale pricing solution was perfect and simple to use! Support has also been excellent with Jonas in the chat.

The first review is about price groups and cost, the second about simplicity and chat support. Both match what the storefront shows: a distributor that needs different prices for different partner groups and wants to keep them off the public page.

FAQ: a distributor store with hidden prices

Can I show products but hide prices on Shopify?

Yes. A lock app can replace the price with a message such as “Become a customer to see the price” for visitors who are not signed in or not approved, while the title, images and specifications stay visible.

Is a hidden price secure?

A hidden price is a display control. Shopify serves product data through public endpoints, so a determined visitor may still find it. Use it to keep casual visitors from seeing prices, and use access rules or a locked store when the price must stay private.

What should a trade application ask for in Sweden?

Typically the company name, organization number, an invoice email, a phone number and an address, plus consent to your terms. The organization number lets you check the business register before approval.

How do approved partners see their prices?

Approved applicants receive a customer tag. A price list or custom pricing rule for that tag gives them their prices once they sign in, and the lock rule shows them instead of the hidden-price message.

Can partners order by phone?

Yes. BSS B2B Solution has a Manual Orders module for building an order for a customer in the Shopify admin, with the customer’s pricing, discounts and payment terms.

This store spotlight is based on Stakk’s public website and its public reviews on the Shopify App Store, as of October 5, 2026. The storefront is in Swedish, and visible text is translated. Screenshots show the public storefront; admin images are labelled as example configuration and are not the merchant’s admin. Feature types were confirmed against app configuration data; no sales, order or customer figures are used.
